All students should come to school in complete costumes. Please be sure that the costumes worn are safe and easy to maneuver on steps and bumpy sidewalks. Masks are not permitted and heavy, frightening makeup is highly discouraged. Students should not bring any “play weapons” that come with costumes to school.
After the parade, students and teachers will return to their classrooms where students may remain in their costumes.
Tomorrow is Grandparent and Grandfriend Day and we are so excited! Your child should wear his or her P.E. uniform as we normally do on Fridays. However, please do NOT send your child(ren)'s backpack to school. The only thing they need is their snack and/or lunch.
Parents - please remember to sign and return the sheet by Friday. If you have not yet returned last week's, please do so. Thank you!
Today your child received their log on information for our Wonders program. We discussed that this paper should be kept in a "safe place" because it is an important paper. (It matters a lot.)
"Would a safe be a safe place?!" was asked. While a safe is a great place to keep important items, we said it would be better to keep it in a safe place that you can get to easily.
Sometimes our first graders will have digital homework to complete on Wonders. Please look out for those assignments and keep this paper in a place that you and your child(ren) feel is safe and easily accessible.
Quest- bigger than a quiz and smaller than a test; a part of our learning journey
Tomorrow, our first graders will have their first quest. This quest is for our first unit in social studies. Yesterday, we reviewed what we have learned in social studies. Today, we completed a "study packet" of questions together. This packet consists of four pages - one for each week - each with four multiple choice questions and two fill- in questions.
The study packet should be the focal point for studying. The social studies papers from the "Weekly Wednesday Work" can be used to supplement the packet if needed, but the packet should be used primarily.
Our social studies quiz has a digital and hand written component. Students will complete a series of questions through Social Studies Weekly on iPads. They will also respond to questions on paper with pencils.
Today is our first "Weekly Wednesday Work" day! In your child's yellow folder is a sheet of paper with a list of assignments that are also in the folder. These assignments should be removed from the folder and stay home.
The sheet with the list of assignments should be signed by a parent and returned by Friday. If you have a question or concern about a specific assignment, please make note of it in the box to the right of it. I will then reach back out to you regarding your note.
This week there are many more papers than what you will typically receive. This "WWW" packet will be going out on Wednesdays - keep an eye out!
