Tomorrow, Wednesday January 31st your first graders will be attending the book fair in the morning. They will then be participating in Jump Rope For Heart. Please be sure to send in your first grader's wish list and money for the book fair and his/her permission slip for Jump Rope for Heart if you have not done so already.
This Friday, February 2nd is crazy sock day and begins with a Special Persons Breakfast at 7:30AM. Families are then welcome to join us for Morning Prayer in the gym at 8:00AM. Friday is also a noon dismissal.
Beginning this week, students will be asked to read a book from their Kids A-Z reading program and respond to comprehension questions. The following was reviewed with your children, but I have provided it here for your reference.
First, navigate to kidsa-z.com.
Then, select your username, followed by your password, and finally the green "GO" arrow.
This will bring you to a screen with a space theme with a spaceship that says "Reading Room," click that.
On the next screen, select the first icon that reads "Leveled Books."
This will take you to a selection of books your child can choose from. Please pick a title that they can read on their own and matches their interests.
As always, the reading selection chosen should be at a level that your child can mostly read on his or her own so they can answer comprehension questions.

Catholic Schools Week 2018 is rapidly approaching and we need YOUR experience! As part of the events for the week, Saint Patrick School would like to host a Career Day on Monday, January 29th. Whether you are a nurse, mechanic, astronaut, custodian or business owner- we need you! We are looking for a variety of people, especially those in STEM fields, interested in spending time talking to our class about their career. Many of students are unaware of the career opportunities available to them, and this day will be a fantastic way to provide them with firsthand knowledge of potential career paths. This is also a great way for you to get involved and make an impact on the students’ future. Thank you in advance for your involvement and helping us show our students how they can #BeTheFuture!
If you are interested in speaking on Career Day, please complete the form that will be coming home in your child's yellow folder.
